Southeast Asian Recipes
The neighboring countries of Thailand, Cambodia Laos and Vietnam might share a peninsula and many similar flavors but each has their own unique twist. There are some overlaps in Southeast Asian recipes, particularly between Laos and Northern Thai foods, but also differences. Thai curries, for example, tend to use more coconut milk while Vietnamese dishes are a bit lighter with more fresh herbs.
In Southeast Asian cooking you'll find plenty of herbs like cilantro (coriander) and lemongrass, chili and coconut. Many dishes have a bit of heat, but not all.
Try fresh and unusual salads like Luang Prabang salad (Laos salad), Cambodian green mango salad and Thai beef salad (waterfall beef, nam tok). Some classic curries may be more familiar like beef massaman curry and vegetarian Thai red curry. Then there are lesser known but equally delicious stews like bo kho (Vietnamese beef stew). So much to enjoy!
