You may have seen me post on Facebook or Google+ that I’m honored to be a Food and Wine Conference (#FWCon) brand ambassador this year and I’m really looking forward to heading to Florida from 13th – 15th May, not just because it will be warmer than here but for everything the conference has in store. This will be my first time at the conference – and any food conference for that matter – but I am pretty sure I will love it having followed along as it happened last year (I was too pregnant to go!) and seeing social media shares of this year’s planning (just look up #FWCon on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook!). So let me tell you a little more about it and why you might want to consider joining me.
The food and wine conference is held in a fantastic setting – the Rosen Shingle Resort – that’s enough of a reason to go in itself, but the fact there’s an adjoining culinary school is even more so; the food at this conference looks an absolute feast for the senses. The conference is hosted by Sunday Supper which you’ll have seen I have shared many posts with over the last year. I love the mission of Sunday Supper and have been so impressed by the dishes others share each week as well as the fantastic sense of community in the group. Isabel, the founder, has so much energy that I know she puts into #FWCon as well. I also know it’s going to feel like meeting friends when I see others who are going (and there are many!), but even if you didn’t know people it’s a friendly group to spend a couple days with.
The planned schedule for the conference is a mix of some skills for blogging, such as creating videos and using social media, but also a lot of food inspiration and cooking skills from the talented chefs at Rosen Shingle Resort as well as those coming from the brand partners. Sunday Supper has worked with a number of fantastic brands over the last few years and many will be we welcomed back this year. They’re sharing expertise on things like cheese pairing and grill skills as well as effectively working with brands.
While you can probably tell from all this it will be a great event to learn and have fun if you are a food blogger, there’s going to be so much to enjoy even as someone who just simply likes eating and drinking. Personally, as I said, I can’t wait. So check your diary and if you’re free do consider joining me. It’s going to be a blast!
Plus if you enter the code ‘CarolinesCooking’ when you register you’ll get $50 off!
I hope to see you there!
