Dauphinoise potatoes

If you are looking for a tasty way to prepare potatoes, look no further! Layers of potato cooked in cream, with thyme and garlic - decadent and delicious.

Let’s get started!

Slice the potatoes evenly

Cut the potatoes into an even thickness. You can leave skin on, if you prefer, but you typically peel first. Halve larger slices.

Create a layer of potatoes

Try to fill the gaps in your dish as best you can. Top the potatoes evenly with thyme and garlic.

Pour over some cream, then repeat

Add some cream so that the potatoes are barely covered. Then repeat the layers of potato, garlic and cream.

Bake until the potatoes are tender and you have a gently browned layer of cream on top.

It makes a perfect side to lots of meals, especially roasts.
